We Celebrate 40 Years of Publishing
We have matured! From the figment of an idea tossed about while walking the dog on Clapham Common, we have become a publishing house with finished books on the shelves, each with its sales history around the world, each with Herculean labours, and a few jaw-dropping moments, behind it. To celebrate 40 years of publishing, we are giving away a book a month.
The first book we are giving away is a wood-bound limited edition of Very Heath Robinson, Adam Hart-Davis’s ‘whopping (1.9 kg), wonderful new book’ as one reviewer has called it. To decide who gets it, we are running a Summer Caption Competition. For a chance to win this book about the ‘Grand High Celestial Mechanic of Absurdity’, as Philip Pullman christens him, write a caption to the following picture and send it to us by Friday 28th June 2019 (terms and conditions in Entry Form below).
The winning caption will be chosen by the author Adam Hart-Davis and Heath Robinson’s great-nephew and Chairman of the William Heath Robinson Trust, Peter Higginson. The winner will be announced on Friday 12th July.
Very limited edition
The Very Heath Robinson De Luxe Edition is numbered and signed by the author, Adam Hart-Davis, and has a memorable Foreword by that other Heath Robinson admirer, Philip Pullman. Priced at £150, the limited edition is capped at 200 copies, some of which you can see being finished on our conference table. It comes with a numbered print ready for framing.
