In this colour photograph appear most of Big Boy 4014’s original driving controls dating from the 1940s, including regulator, brake and gear levers, boiler steam pressure gauge and air brake gauges, and more modern speedometer and safety control systems. In the boiler steam pressure gauge the dial points to 295 p.s.i., the usual level maintained by the fireman when the engine is stationary.
